34. OPERATING SEGMENTS
The Group has four reportable segments, as described below, which are the Group’s strategic business
units. The strategic business units offer different geographical locations and are managed separately. For
each of the strategic business units, the Group’s Chief Executive Officer reviews internal management
reports on at least a quarterly basis.
The following summary described the geographical locations units in each of the Group’s reportable
segments:
(a) Malaysia
(b) Philippines
(c) Thailand
(d) Australia
The accounting policies of operating segments are the same as those described in the summary of
significant accounting policies.
The Group evaluates performance on the basis of profit or loss from operations before tax not including
non-recurring losses and also excluding the effects of share-based payments.
Inter-segment revenue is priced along the same lines as sales to external customers and is eliminated in the
consolidated financial statements. These policies have been applied consistently throughout the current
and previous financial years.
Segment results, assets and liabilities include items directly attributable to a segment. Segment capital
expenditure is the total costs incurred during the period to acquire segment assets that are expected to be
used for more than one year.
