UNLOCKING OUR LANDBANK In 2021, Tropicana purchased four parcels of strategic landbank in Genting Highlands, Langkawi and Kuala Selangor to solidify its position in the country’s leading holiday hotspots. Measuring a total of 677 acres for RM847 million, Tropicana aims to cater to local and foreign buyers as well as the silver hair community. To further expand Tropicana’s footprint and enhance its property development profile, the Group also strengthened its presence in Johor by entering into Joint Development Agreement with Suci Padu Sdn Bhd to develop 1,188 acres industrial park. In 2021, Tropicana saw the groundbreaking ceremony of its first Industrial Park in Iskandar Malaysia which was officiated by the Johor Menteri Besar. The modern Tropicana Industrial Park is the only centralised industrial park in the district and is set to spur economic growth in the Southern Region of Peninsular Malaysia. Tropicana also secured development rights for 363 acres of land parcels to develop affordable, quality homes in Ijok, Kuala Selangor. The development will be strategically sited with easy access to the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR), Jalan Sungai Buloh, Guthrie Corridor Expressway and West Coast Expressway. Overall, Tropicana’s total landbank of 2,452 acres with a potential GDV of RM152.2 billion places the Group in a solid position to further unlock the value of its strategic landbank and deliver sustainable earnings well into the future.
