41 SECTION 3 VALUE CREATION INTEGRATED ANNUAL REPORT 2025 VALUE CREATION MODEL SOCIAL & RELATIONSHIP CAPITAL Wasco prioritises stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, and social impact initiatives to ensure a strong, sustainable, and ethical business foundation. We foster trust with investors, clients, regulators, and communities through transparent ESG disclosures, ethical business practices, and long-term community investments. In 2025, Wasco received three prestigious ESG awards and renewed its UNGCMYB membership, further reinforcing our commitment to responsible corporate citizenship. Regulatory compliance vs. business agility: Adapting to evolving ESG standards – including our inclusion in the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia and FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Syariah indices, and recognition through prestigious ESG awards – strengthens our corporate reputation but also introduces increased compliance costs and more rigorous reporting obligations. Community investments vs. shareholder expectations: Supporting social impact initiatives across Malaysia, Qatar, UAE, Tanzania, Singapore, and Indonesia – reaching 170,267 beneficiaries with RM342,929 invested and 10,759 volunteer man-hours contributed – aligns with long-term value creation while remaining balanced against shareholder return expectations. Our Approach Trade-Offs S • Deepen community investment programmes across Malaysia, Qatar, UAE, Tanzania, Singapore, and Indonesia, with a focus on education, healthcare, and environmental stewardship. • Strengthen stakeholder engagement frameworks to foster greater collaboration, transparency, and long-term shared value. • Expand employee volunteerism to encourage active participation in community initiatives across all operating locations. • Sustain and strengthen our ESG commitments, maintaining alignment with the UN Global Compact Ten Principles and Communication on Progress (“COP”) reporting. 2025 Focus • Community Engagement: Delivered impactful social programmes across Malaysia, Qatar, UAE, Tanzania, Singapore, and Indonesia, reaching 170,267 beneficiaries, investing RM342,929, and contributing 10,759 volunteer man-hours. • Global Compact Membership: Renewed our UNGCMYB membership, sustaining our alignment with the Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, and maintaining our status as a COP participant. • ESG Recognition: Wasco’s commitment to responsible corporate citizenship was recognised through three prestigious awards: - The Edge ESG Awards 2025 - Gold Award - CSR Malaysia Awards 2025 - Company of the Year (Energy Solutions) - UNGCMYB ESG Select List 2025 - 3-Star Lister Achievements
