Wah Seong Corporation Berhad Annual Report 2021

Wah Seong Corporation Berhad Annual Report 2021 25 Scope 1 Coverage: entire Group (100%) CO2 emissions from the consumption of fuel were derived from the emission factor published by the IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories. 76,421 217,093 33.69 71.45 0 50,000 100,000 150,000 200,000 250,000 2019 2020 Water Withdrawal (m3) 2,534 2019 2019 2020 2020 2021 6,628 4,880 0 2,000 4,000 6,000 8,000 C02-e Emissions (tonnes) 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, C02-e Emissions (tonnes) Scope 2 Coverage: entire Group (100%) CO2 emi ss i ons f r om electricity use in Malaysia were derived using the emission factor published by the Malaysian Green Technology Corporation for the Peninsular Grid. 76,421 217,093 151,121 33.69 71.45 25.45 0 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 0 50,000 100,000 150,000 200,000 250,000 2019 2020 2021 Water Intensity ((m3/Man-hours (1,000)) Water Withdrawal (m3) 2,534 2019 2019 2020 2021 2020 2021 2019 2020 2021 6,628 4,880 0 2,000 4,000 6,000 8,000 C02-e Emissions (tonnes) 5,286 8,046 8,719 0 2, 00 4,000 6,000 8,000 10,000 C02-e Emissions (tonnes) 3.1 3.65 2.37 0 1 2 3 4 kWh/Man-hours Scope 3 Coverage: entire Group (100%) Air travel GHG emissions were calculated point to point including the number of employees on Board and distance travelled. Separate calculations were performed for business and economy class flights. Online tools der ived from the WRI Greenhouse Gas Protocol were used to calculate the CO2 emissions from air travel. Our scope 3 GHG emissions are derived by calculating emissions resulting from air travel. We did not perform this calculation due to travel restrictions and the border shut-down during most of FY2021. We have considered the effects of decarbonisation on the value of our assets over the short, medium and long term and recognise the importance of considering climate-related impacts and opportunities across our business. Wasco’s key strategic priority is the transition to a low-emissions energy sector. We actively monitor the latest global climate change science published by leading international organisations to help assess potential risks and opportunities for our portfolio. We seek to manage our portfolio to be resilient to adapt to a fast-moving energy transition and the increasing expectations of our stakeholders. We are continuously improving how we identify, assess, manage and govern climate-related risks and opportunities for our business. Emissions Intensity Total GHG emissions do not necessarily reflect efficiency as they do not consider changes in output. Wasco expresses its emissions intensity as the tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent produced by 1,000 man-hours. Year 2019 2020 2021 Total Emission (tCO2e) 7,820 14,674 13,599 Total Man-hours 2,268,409 3,038,508 5,938,644 tCO2e/Man-hours (1,000) 3.45 4.83 2.29 SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT
