Section 6 | Sustainability Statement 198 OUR SAFETY COMMITMENT Our commitment towards safety was evident by our ability to swiftly deal and adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic that took the world by surprise. This came as a result of strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP) published by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization. This year we incorporated COVID-19 SOP as part of our Toolbox Talk. Toolbox Talk is conducted at all our workshops and job sites on a daily basis prior to commencement of work. The talk is typically short and informal in purpose of improving safety and health by directly involving workers with iimportant issues. Personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety overalls, footwear, hardhats, goggles, and ear plugs (wherever necessary) for each worker are inspected before entering workshops or job sites every morning. Random alcohol tests were also performed during this safety meeting. During this daily talk, weemphasiseon social distancing, mandatory usage of facemasks, and reminder to always wash hands to maintain proper hygiene. All service centres and site projects have COVID-19 SOP banners as a reminder to employees. As part of our contribution to communities, we provided PPEs, face shields, sanitisers as well as other necessities to frontliners and medical teams in Malaysia, Central Asia, and Africa. This help to alleviate some of the pressures that medical teams were facing during the initial period of the pandemic.
