The directors present their report together with the audited financial statements of the Group and of the Company for the financial year ended 31 December 2020. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES The principal activities of the Company are investment holding and provision of management services to its subsidiaries. The principal activities and other information of the subsidiaries, joint ventures and associates are described in Note 43 to the financial statements. In the opinion of the directors, the results of the operations of the Group and of the Company during the financial year were not substantially affected by any item, transaction or event of a material and unusual nature other than the impairment loss on investment in a subsidiary amounting to RM47.6 million and write down of properties held for sale to their net realisable values amounting to RM50.0 million, as further disclosed in Notes 16(a) and Note 19 respectively to the financial statements. DIVIDENDS The amounts of dividends paid by the Company since 31 December 2019 were as follows: RM’000 In respect of the financial year ended 31 December 2019: Single tier interim dividend of 8.00 sen on 831,624,030 ordinary shares declared on 26 February 2020 and paid on 14 May 2020 66,530 The directors do not recommend the payment of any final dividend in respect of the current financial year.
