STATEMENT SUSTAINABILITY ANNUAL REPORT 2024 61 Championing Environmental Responsibility • Mangrove Tree Planting Programme During the year, we launched our first mangrove tree planting programme at Paya Bakau recreational park in Sijangkang, Selangor. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the critical role of mangrove in the ecosystem while promoting the importance of action towards environmental preservation. This programme enabled collaboration between Datasonic employees and the local community, with 50 staff and students from SMK Seksyen 11, Shah Alam, joining in the effort. Together, we planted 150 mangrove saplings, contributing to the restoration of this critical ecosystem. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the critical role of mangrove trees in the ecosystem while promoting the importance of action towards environmental preservation. • Promoting Inclusivity for Community Wellness In FY2024, we advocated for an inclusive and healthy community through our largest event to date, the Datasonic H2O Run held at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur. This 5km fun run attracted approximately 1,200 participants, including families from the Persatuan Pelari Anak Luar Biasa (Little Fighter Runners), a non-profit organisation that empowers children with special needs through athletic competitions. The event featured a variety of activities for all ages, including face painting, a petting zoo, and free-flowing ice cream and cotton candy.
